 JULY  THE  FIGHTER

The Story of July the Fighter...

AJ was the first one the people contacted when they found July laying along the road, bruised, bleeding and unable to walk.  AJ contacted me because July was found in Elgin.  I quickly contacted DVM to tell him we had an emergency and we could bring the kitten in the next day.  AJ had already stabilized July by giving him subQ fluids. He was in shock and dehydration had set in.

The next day DVM found severe nerve damage in his front leg.  The bruises and cuts to his little face would heal with time and antibiotics but none of us knew if his nerve damage would heal or if the nerves were severed.  DVM gave him one week to show improvement or he would have to amputate the leg.  One week turned into 3 weeks before we saw a tiny movement with his paw.  The next 5 months were filled with cage rest, physical therapy and lots of love.

There is a happy ending, July made a full recovery AND was adopted.  Over the months, the VM's had fallen in love with July and today you will see a little black and white kitty trotting behind KVM as she does her chores. July has turned out to be a real fighter to overcome his injuries with the love, patience, and care of the VMs.
