EAC has trapped at Golden Chick and the cats trapped were sick and in need of medical treatment.
Our funds have been exhausted.
Please consider giving a donation so we can continue helping these cats and other community cats in Elgin.

If you’ve ever eaten at Golden Chick you have seen the colony of community cats that call this fast food eatery home.

For a long time, we have known about the plight of these community cats, but individuals and situations beyond our control
prevented Elgin Alley Cats from trapping these cats for TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return).
But this time, customers of Golden Chick took to Facebook to ask for help because the cats were sick and many feared the cats
were in danger of dying. And this time, we faced no objection to trapping the cats for medical treatment and TNR.

So far we have trapped 17 cats with a majority of these requiring medical treatment for respiratory infections. Most of these
cats have now been spayed or neutered, given flea treatments and a rabies vaccination. We are still treating a small portion
of those cats that have lingering respiratory infections.

Helping the Golden Chick colony of cats has been busy, intense and rewarding. All of the cats and kittens will recover but our
funds have been depleted. We need your help.
